MTA AGM Meeting, Sunday November 3, 2024 1:00 PM, Stride Place Portage La Prairie.
Members attending: Barry Blair, Bart Gloor, Lorne Ross, Jason Sparwood Jr, Don Law, Rylan Bower, Tyler Brown, Kevin Brown .
President’s Opening Remarks: We had a very good year for our sport; it was good to see so many new junior shooters taking up the sport. Jason Sparwood Jr announced he would be stepping down as President.
Approval of the Agenda: Bart Gloor moved the Agenda be approved as is, 2nd by Lorne Ross, Carried.
Approval of the minutes from the 2023 AGM, Rylan Bower moved the minutes of the 2023 AGM be approved as is, 2nd by Lorne Ross Carried.
Record of attendance/Quorum: We do not have enough people for a Quorum.

Presidents Report: Jason Sparwood Jr presented a verbal report that indicated he is pleased to see the number of junior shooters is increasing and we need to continue to focus our efforts in getting new junior shooters and more women into the sport. This report was moved by Jason Sparwood Jr, 2nd by Bart Gloor, carried.
Treasurers Report: Barry Blair Presented the bank reconciliation statement and the current operating statement (please see attached). There was general discussion around the aforementioned documents. Barry Blair moved the adoption of his report, 2nd by Lorne Ross, Carried.
Appointment of the Auditor: Barry Blair moved the MTA continue to use the auditing firm of Gislason Targownik Peters from Winkler MB, Don Law seconded the motion, Carried.
ATA Report: Rob Lamont the ATA delegate was not present at the meeting but sent a copy of his report for the board’s consideration (Please see attached). Kevin Brown moved the adoption of the presented ATA Report, 2nd by Bart Gloor, carried.
CTA Report: Jeffery Halldorson the CTA delegate was not present at the meeting but send a copy of his report for the board’s consideration (please see attached). The highlights of the report are as follows. The 2025 Canadian will be in Hamilton Ontario (it will not be a satellite shoot). The 2026 Championship will be in either Calgary or Edmonton. Brandon Manitoba is being considered for the 2027 Canadian Championship. Jeffrey needs the bio of Harry Humby for the CTA Hall of Fame (Jason Sparwood Jr. said he would contact Francie Humby to get the bio). Lorne Ross moved the adoption of this report, 2nd by Rylan Bower, carried.
MJSA Report: The 2025 MJSA Championship will be held June 29, 2025 at the Virden Trap Club. Lorne Ross presented the financials for the MJSA (please see attached). Lorne Ross moved the adoption of his report, 2nd by Don Law, carried.
International Report: Barry Blair presented a verbal report. International trapshooting has gotten some new people to help run the bunkers and there are more people participating. Barry Blair moved the adoption of his report 2nd by Tyler Brown, carried.
2025 Shoot Schedule tentative dates: Virden May 30 and June 1, Winnipeg June 7 and 8, Lundar June 21 and 22, Virden MJSA Provincial, June 29, Pembina July 5 and 6, Brandon Central Zone July 25,26,27; Virden August 10 and 11, Brandon Provincial August 22,23,24. Barry Blair moved the above dates, 2nd by Tyler Brown, Carried.
Election of directors: Tyler Brown will move from vice President to President as Jason Sparwood Jr has stepped down. There were no objections to this. The office of VP will remain vacant as we do not have a quorum to elect and new directors.
Notice of Motions to be addressed from the Semi Annual Meeting of the MTA: The issue of some people not receiving All Star shirts due to different calculation methodologies will be resolved by purchasing shirts for those who did not receive them. Moved by Jason Sparwood Jr, 2nd by Lorne Ross, carried.
